grandma trimble

today was my sweet grandma trimble's funeral. i wasn't able to travel up to the funeral which broke my heart, but my mind & heart was with her all day long. the last couple of years she has suffered from dementia & it has been so heartbreaking to see her be a prisoner to her mind. i'm so excited for her to be able to be released from this life & back with her sweetie pie! she was an amazing woman & example to me in my life. her husband died when she was only 28 years old leaving her with 4 young children. my dad was only 3 & he had 2 younger siblings below him. i can't imagine the strength & sacrifices it took her to raise 4 children on her own. she had a quiet strength about her, not the kind that jumps out & slaps you in the face but the kind we all wish we had! she was sweet, gentle & kind. she always had a smile & there wasn't a time i saw her that she didn't tell me how pretty i was. she wasn't just an old stuffy grandma, she was my friend. grandma was always up for a fun time; shopping, going out to lunch, going to a movie & education week every year with my mom (a tradition that i have been lucky enough to join into) are just a few of the fun things we'd do. one of my very favorite memories growing up was the summer i got to go stay with her in american fork, utah for the summer. there is nothing better than being the only grandchild all summer long! i remember her taking me to the store & stocking up on peanut butter captain crunch & fresca my 2 fav's! it was just grandma & i all summer long & i loved every second of it. I'm so grateful for the sweet memories & love my grandma has left with me. I feel like I have a part of her saved in my heart. I'm so grateful for the gift of eternal families & the knowledge that without doubt, I will see this wonderful woman again!Every Thanksgiving our family would drive up to Utah to spend the holiday with my grandma & dads side of the family. It was always one of my very favorite traditions & I absolutely loved going. This was in Nov 08 & the last time I was able to be there for Thanksgiving. A few of my dads siblings & their families are missing but I'm so glad to have this pic to remember my last Thanksgiving with grandma. :4 generation pic:

Chels I am so sorry. Isn't it such a blessing that we have the gospel and know that we will get to see our grandma's again? My GG died a few months ago and I think of her every day. I know what you are going through and you are in my thoughts and prayers. love you.
